why does EMC think I am offline

Hello Peter, I’m not quite sure what you’re suggesting, are you seeing any errors thrown by the application? Can you make a screenshot of the error or describe the application’s behaviour more closely?

What version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About? What mail service are you using with eM Client? Are you using any security software on your computer, such as Firewall, Antivirus or Proxy?

I have the same problem.  When I hit send/receive, I get the message "password required on the top panel of the window, then the offline message:  try connecting to the internet.  Really?  I am online, since this message is working.  version 6.0.23421.0.  I am really close to having to find another client.  This is way too much hassle.
