Who is having a good experience with 10.3 so far?

I am seeing quite a lot of issues here that only seem related to the new version so I have not upgraded yet. I am on PC mainly and it sounds like Macs are having more problems.
So Im a bit wary at the moment. But, I have started using the Android Beta version and its great. Faster and better.

I and my bro personally don’t have problems with the latest PC V10.3.1738 and Mac V10.3.1720 desktop versions with my IMAP accounts.

I can only advise if you do upgrade “like any previous upgrades”, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” just incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh.

Windows PCs all good. Windows 9 and 11
The only complaint is that “Download pictures from this sender” lists are not cloud-syncing between devices. Each time I have to allow it on a given device, for all senders I trust.
Maybe this is expected since this is just a client not a cloud service. Still I would prefer to use a file on OneDrive or somewhere else (DropBox? iCloud) for that part of config.

To get the same Download picture settings on other eM Client computers without manually doing it on each device, you could use the eg: built-in backup and restore via the “Menu / Backup” which creates a dated backup file with the complete Settings. Then you can copy that to other PC or Mac desktop computers to then be restored identical via “Menu / File / Restore”.

Or alternatively you could export your current eM Client “Settings” to a Settings.xml file via “Menu / File / Export” and then transfer that file to the new eM Client & reimport the Settings.xml file via “Menu / File / Import” to then be identical.

See eM Client documentation on exporting

https://www.emclient.com/webdocumentation/en/10.0/emclient/default.htm#Getting%20Started/Export/Export%20Settings%20to%20xml%20file.htm?

Do you suggest I perform this backup-restore every time I add one more safe sender? no
Even the free Windows Live Mail had the synced whitelist.
I see no issue to make it happen with emClient, since the list is already editable, and the client knows my cloud providers.

I haven’t had any problems with the windows version

I have not had any problems or issues on the windows 10.3 version and the current beta release of the Android version.

Here also quite happy with eM Client version 10.3.1720 (b574c3b) on my M4 MacMini (running latest 15.4.1 so far).

The only problems I’m facing is with threaded emails. Thread sometimes shows emails from complete different conversations :frowning:. Hoper there will be a fix for this soon!

I waited for v10.3 before making the jump with my main machine (a MacBook Pro) because I wanted to import my old Postbox data. I tested (and have continued to use) v10.1 on my desktop and that has worked quite well. v10.3 on my laptop was very unstable initially, but the updated version of v10.3.1720 became stable and I was very happy about that.

I’m using Office 365/Exchange and have seen suggestions there may be more issues with usage of Exchange, but have not investigated those statements further.

I was noticing some issues, however, and I contacted Support and am now testing v10.3.1808:

  • Duplicate draft messages from different save points/times - seems to be fixed

  • Draft messages remaining in the Drafts folder after sending - seems to be fixed

  • Draft folders contain confusing threads/Conversations after sending (showing Inbox and Sent items, but not the draft messages, so not relevant to this folder)

  • Differing folder items counts between v10.1 and v10.3; could be related to Conversations issues?

I’ve sent a couple of updates to Support over the past day or two and hopefully they will get back to me soon about these. Either that or I could create new support cases if easier.

If you have a Non business eM Client Pro or Personal version, you could initially either use the backup & restore , or export & import settings.xml as I advised to get the safe senders the same on your PC or Mac computers, and then just add any new safe senders etc manually to each device from then on. I’ve done that with my own lists on my various different devices.

If you have a Business Pro license you can eg: sync signatures and other settings with the PC and Mac versions via uploading your settings to the eM Client server, and then all devices using your license then will get the same settings.

So you might possibly also be able to sync your safe senders that way as well without manually adding them later to each PC or Mac device.

So if you have a current active Business Pro license, go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket to ask if you can sync safe senders via the eM Client server.
