Is there a way to prevent messages I reply to having the recipient automatically entered into my contact list?

Hello, recipients are not automatically added to the contact listed but are fetched by the application as used recipients, you can disable this option in Tools > Settings > Mail > Compose and uncheck the option “Store composed mail recipients for suggestion”.
