Waiting for IMAP after changing password.

I have changed my password in the eM web application, mail.co.uk.
No problem, logging in, sending and receiving worked well.

I also set the new password in my eM client.
But guess what, I didn’t receive any IMAP email.
A diagnosis told me that SMPT is OK, but IMAP fails, fixing failed too.

The IMAP mail became visible after more then one hour.
Why did it take so long?
Every suggestion is greatly appreciated.
