Ever since updating to V9, most mail with attachments open very slowly. New mail takes many moments to Send.
Same thing with V8.
Sometimes entire application gets “frozen” after attempting to close an open window.
I may need to go all the way back to V7. It was much faster

That usually means something running on the computer in the background is interfering with the mailer or mail IMAP / POP and SMTP ports.
If you have any optional eg Firewall Security programs, or optional Antivirus programs or optional VPNs etc, try completely disabling those to test and then close and reopen eM Client.
If that works ok (with them disabled), you then have to enable them one at a time till you find which one is the cause & then adjust the specific program to allow eM Client to work.
Also make sure you have the latest V9 for Windows or Mac from the version history page installed. If you upgrade, backup first via “Menu / Backup”. You can see when it’s completed the backup via “Menu / Operations”. Then close eM Client before you install any new d/l update.
