V8 Where are attachments?

In V8 a paperclip shows that indicates attachment to the e-mail but I cannot see the attachment or access it unless I (1) go to attachments tab or (2) right click on message click save attachment

This is a huge pain in the ass and I must be missing something, what am I doing wrong?

E-mail server is ancient Microsoft Exchange 8.3.83.0 (~2007)
