Upgrade won't start

Just upgraded to new EMClient and bought the new version. When I try to open EMClient I get “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file”. The path for the error is truncated but is “AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\Task…”.

Probably an old shortcut you created. Also depending on what version you are coming from, the executable file was named differently, so that could be it.

I suggest you remove the shortcut, then start eM Client from the Windows Start Menu, or create a new shortcut. For version 10 the shortcut should point to "C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe" including the " ".

Sorry to be obtuse, but how do I remove the shortcut?

If I go directly to your directory and open MailClient.exe I get the same error, but this time it references the MailClient.exe.

Bingo - I found it. It was being blocked by PCMatic. Once I white-listed the program it opened correctly.
