Upgrade & Database error

I am currently using version 8.2.1659 and have two questions regarding an upgrade to v9:

  1. Will v9 fix the database error I keep on getting on my Win10 system which informs me that the db may be corrupted upon reboot? (I can only avoid this by closing the app and waiting for a minutes before shut down of the computer)

  2. What’s the difference between v8 and v9 and why doesn’t it prominently feature on your website so that I can upgrade? The only info I find are external resources on the upgrade page (with the price). (i guess the info is hidden somewhere in a blog post)
