When my emails are synced I get the following error “Creating or updating folder ‘John emails/Sent Items/’ failed due to the following error. The move or copy operation failed.”
The same also happens for Deleted Items on a second email account.
How can I stop this error.

Did you attempt moving the Sent folder? As it is a folder created by the server, it can not be moved. In any case, removing and adding the account should get rid of these errors. Make sure you have all of your data on the server before removing the account though.

The Folders on line are:
InBox
Junk Email
Drafts
Sent Items
Deleted Items
I have now deleted and reinstalled this account in emclient and the folders that appear are:
Inbox
Sent
Trash
Drafts
Junk E-mail
Deleted Items
Outbox
The Deleted Items folder is empty and all the deleted items are in the Trash folder.
The error with this account is with the Deleted Items folder which the server cannot update. The deleted items are being sent to the Trash folder instead.
How can I either get the server to access the Deleted Items folder or stop accessing this folder.
As you will have seen the same sort of problem occurs with the [email protected] account but with this account it is the Sent Items folder which produces the error.

Thank you for the update. The Deleted Items folder is not a standard hotmail folder. Did/do you perhaps access this account through other devices? They often create their own folders that can be problematic, instead of using the folders already on the server.

Thanks. The standard folders in outlook.com/Hotmail are Inbox, Junk, Drafts, Sent and Deleted. These are stated in various websites including:

On my emclient account I have all these plus Outbox and Junk - not sure where this came from but all deleted items are sent here rather than to the Deleted Items Folder.
So the problem is that emclient is storing all my deleted items in Trash but sometimes when Outlook.com attempts to synchronise my Deleted folder it comes up as an Error.
Also where has the Trash folder come from and why is this being used to store Deleted Items.

Regarding your suggestion that deleted items is not a standard hotmail folder I would just add that I also get an error with the Sent Folder of the jennybartlett20 account. I am sure that Sent Items is a standard Hotmail folder.
Also I now have another error and this is regarding the Mailbox database. I attach a screen  shot of the error and would appreciate any help in resolving this error.

Thank you for the update. In this case, I would please ask you to go to Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Advanced -> Logging and turn on logging for the ‘Exchange Web Services’ for the hotmail accounts that display the error message. The next time the errors you are describing pop up, please go again to Logging, click on Send Longs and send them to [email protected] with a link to this thread.

Hello Howard,
Something you could look into, since you started receiving this error, is the size of the messages that you are trying to upload to the server from these two accounts. Please go to Menu -> Edit -> Find, search all the folders and specify the criteria for “Larger”. Try to find if there aren’t message larger e.g. than 50MB, 100MB, … If any of these messages are this big, they are probably causing the problem and should be deleted.
If this doesn’t work, we would please ask you to turn on the logging and send the logs to us, as described in the previous message.
