I am getting nearly daily requests to update. I am on ver. 7.0.26687.0 which I updated yesterday. I now have a request to update to 7.0.27943.0 . . . Am I using a beta version or is this normal ?

if you have an older version of eM Client you should be offered all newer versions available. Sometimes you can install the newest right away, sometimes they need to be installed by one to avoid any database errors. I suspect you perhaps had a very old version installed and that’s why the 7.0.26687.0 update needed to be installed first before the newest one.
Full history of our releases is available on our website - http://www.emclient.com/release-history - so you can check if you have the newest version yourself. None of these are BETA versions.
