Updated yesterday; now application won't launch - this database error

I updated yesterday at the prompting of my emClient application. I had v.7, and I guess this was the latest version of that? Anyway, now I cannot open the application at all. It did a database check and presented me with this problem & said to contact support and provide you with this:

   at DbRepair.CorruptionChecker.CheckCorruption()
   at DbRepair.FormCheck.Check(Object state)

Help?! I cannot open my email at all!!

seems like your database folder is set to read-only and eM Client can’t update/work with the data.
Go to C:\Users_%user login%_\AppData\Roaming and find eM Client folder.
Right-click, check Properties and make sure the folder isn’t Read-only.
