More info after another try to open the program after a re-boot:

Open the default database location to see if there are any files and inform me of the result.
C:\Users%Current User%\AppData\Roaming\eM Client (Vista/Win7)
C:\Documents and Settings%Current User%\Application Data\eM Client (XP)

Unfortunately this is broken database, if you can still open eM Client try to export as many things as you can by File - Export…
After this you will need to delete this folder “eM client” note that it will erase all your eM Client related data that means unsynchronized emails, contacts or events etc…
after fresh start you can import your latest backup file if you have any.
