Why not have two versions of eM Client. One version just for users that just want a basic email program to send and receive emails. No bells and whistles or no other email programs like gmail, yahoo to get. The more programs added cause problems for users. I have an gmail program which I go to get mail.
Then a program for users who want everything.

You can just use eM Client as a basic mail client with a Gmail account.
If you only just want the eg: email and contacts, without the calendar and tasks, you can disable everything else via the accounts General tab & in Setting and just use it as a basic mailer. It’s all completely configurable in the program.
Many of my friends use Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo accts with “only the mail and contacts” as they don’t use calendars, tasks, etc as they are very minimal users. They even customise the compose toolbars to just what they want on them. So you set it up how you like. I personally do use Calendar & Tasks so enable those too.
For the first 30days of using the program (if you have never had eM Client before), you will get the trial with all the full featured options as listed on pricing page when you scroll down, which then if you don’t purchase the program after the initial 30 days, it then changes to a limited version.
