Turn off tags for folders?

The weirdest thing is happening. I use tags to mark emails, but while adding my accounts to eM, all of my subfolders that I use to organize are tagging my emails as well. I need to be able to sort my emails into folders by project, etc, and then also tag some of them for what I need to do ASAP, what I need to reply to, etc. When I try to remove the folder tag (say the folder is named Project X, it also adds a Project X tag in a random color), it removes the email from the folder. How can I disable this tagging?

Yes I find that same problem too.l and haven’t found how to avoid that either.
