I moved a client from WLM to emClient, paid for, but he is struggling with the layout compared to WLM. I keep telling him that he has to accept it will never look like WLM and that he needs to learn how to become comfortable with emClient. I have been over to him twice going through the same thing but he is struggling. There are a couple of things that bug him and this is the second of two posts
I had to import data and contacts in from WLM.
On some of his imported folders it has truncated the folder name and ended it with what appears to be a hex code
For instance
Our holiday to the volcano where I nearly fell in
has become
Our holiday bf839a
Any ideas why?
Probably too late to fix

Reading many websites on this topic, unfortunately this type of thing "also has happened for many peeps exporting WLM folders to many other other mail clients including Thunderbird, and is to do with the WLM folder structure thats just doesn’t seem 100% compatible with other mail clients.
So i suspect you would have to just correct / rename the folder names. I also had a similar thing happen when i eg: exported an old Outlook.pst file to eM Client and Thunderbird many years ago and also had to end up manually renaming the folder names.
If some of the Contacts haven’t all come over correctly, try going back to WLM and export to either a .CSV or .VCF and then try importing the contacts to eM Client via “Menu / File / Import”.
Note:- If you do have to reimport exported WLM Contacts into eM Client, delete the current ones first before importing to avoid duplicates.
Thanks for your reply. That is what I told my customer that he just needs to rename the folders because it is a compatibility issue due to the age of WLM.
I had lots of issues importing Contacts, getting the right data into the right place.
Took me 3 attempts on my own emClient (paid for version) before I got it how it should be but I am grateful to emClient that they have the ability to do this.
Hopefully I wont have to do anymore WLM again
Thanks again for your reply
