about 5 days ago my eM Client stopped being able to retrieve my Gmail account on my home network (Time Warner - Now Spectrum) I connected my laptop to my phone as a hotspot on Verizon ad it worked fine. Reconnected to home network and it cant communicate. I spent hours with Time Warner Support and got to a higher level support tech and provided screen shots of trace routes showing what looks like a DNS issue on one of their servers. Has not been resolved yet.
From what you described it looks like issue is related to your home network.
