I have not upgraded to version 8 yet. How is the best way to upgrade. Will it upgrade over the older version, delete the old version first, or how.
Also will my license(lifetime) transfer with it or do I have to do something.

  1. Make a backup using Menu > File > Backup. Because the database structure will change, you will not be able to go back to 7 if you decide to do that later.

  2. Close eM Client then download and install the latest version 8 release from the Release History.

  3. Use eM Client with all your settings and data automatically there. :wink:

Your license should transfer, but if it does not you can activate it again in Menu > Help > License.
