Just to confirm that this seems to be an issue with V7. I’ve downgraded to the latest V6 and everything seems to be working

this problem happens when eM Client tries to download the messages, but when it prompts Windows, it is given the signal that it’s offline.
You could try adding an exception to Windows firewall for eM Client to see if that makes the response faster or more accurate, but other than that we cannot pin down more details, because we have trouble replicating the issue.

Hi Olivia, thanks for the response. A bit confused to why V6 works and V7 doesn’t (do they work in the same way). V6 seems to be working fine, my worry is that when I come to use 7 (and I’ll happily pay for it if ti’s working correctly) I get the same issue
I’m also experiencing the same issue. This is not a firewall problem. I’ve added an exception and even disabled the firewall completely. I do not use any 3rd party anti-virus/firewall apps. More importantly, they’ve never been installed at any point in time. I am however using Windows 10. v6 is working normally. v7 will not download any mail.
Edit: Worth noting that v7 syncs with my Exchange accounts, but never actually downloads the messages. Would seem to imply the connection is being allowed.
Same issue - VERY annoying when I need to open an attachment immediately! It is not my firewall - email client is an allowed application.

this current issue mentioned in this post seems like a v7 exclusive issue and we are working on it.
The firewall solution might work for your problem in version 6.
Let us know if not and please include the Logs when this problem happens again.

Hi Edmuxo,
Did you try adding an exception to your firewall and antivirus for eM Client or turning them off completely to see if that helps? From the logs this looks like something else is blocking eM Client’s connection to the server.

Hi - was this issue ever solved? I have also been having this problem from time to time. It is definitely not a firewall or anything like that. Most of the time I get my messages fine. But every now and then it happens.

Same thing happen here- a little bit of a worry with viewing important messages…
Added EM Client to defender firewall. Running diagnostics and the email was sent to the webmail account. No problem there, but no change with the situation in EM Client. Viewing source still got the error, even with the headers, whch you could still see the text of in the pane of the “stuck” email".
Restarted EM client- all is well again, 
The logging wasn’t enabled, sorry, so not an easy one to trap the gremlins in any case.
As a matter of interest, WLM and OE once had an Offline/Online button in the status tray- with the advancing of internet functionality its purpose became dubious. Would EM Client implement anything like that as a workaround, if not, just for fun?
