If you are sharing your Tasks with other users in a eg: organisation or in a work chat etc, then you would check that box “for your own personal task stuff”, and only show work related public tasks.
But otherwise you don’t normally need to check that box if you are not sharing tasks with others. Same goes when creating calendar events.
I don’t believe you can create multiple day task reminders with the one single task as per the task documentation below, only recurring day tasks. That might need a Sleekplan suggestion for that.
So if creating one task doesn’t currently allow multiple day reminders, then “right click on the task” and copy the task and “select the same calendar”. Then change the reminder date / time for that second duplicate task.

Same thing with creating single calendar events, where after creating the event you can eg: right click “copy to folder” option to then “select the same calendar” to duplicate and then change the reminder date / time for that duplicate event.
