I assigned colors to tags and one of them is a teal green but the text in the email shows up as dark blue.

Like magic, that one suddenly started working but now my green tag is showing up red on the email in another area. I removed the tag and the red disappeared. Re tagged with the green one and it again shows up as red text.
Gmail settings is to never mark mail as important.
