System won't accept payment for subscription renewal

My subscription renewal has just come up and the payment system has refused my credit card five times. I even tried a different credit card. My subscription has just been cancelled.

I emailed payproglobal and they responded as follows:

We apologize for the inconvenience, but our payment partners were not able to authorize the added card for subscription payments. While your card is fine, this has to do with requirements imposed on us by Visa, Mastercard, Amex (the so-called Card Schemes) in regard to recurring transactions and how they must be authorized. In this situation, we’d offer you to purchase the same product from the product vendor’s website again thus initiating a new subscription with the required card.

What kind of mickey-mouse operation is this? Don’t they want people to renew?

Suggest as you had a problem with your payment, to go to your webmail in your browser and send an email to [email protected] who can assist you and copy the payproglobal response.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey @Peter_Chatterton

Very strange unless it is the type of card that is the issue.
I have 3 separate auto-renewal subscriptions all with different
organisations that are processed automatically, the most recent
was 39 July 2026;
We also accept automatic annual & monthly payments.
However, there are known issues if the card offered is NOT from
one of the major recognised bank/card companies.
The non acceptance extends to pre-payment cards.

What category does your card fall into?

Both my cards are Visa and with major UK banks.

If their systems can’t process auto-renewals with major cards, why do they bother offering auto-renewal?

Hey @Peter_Chatterton

I honestly have no idea though eMC do use a 3rd party processor,
sorry I do not remember who it is though presumably you will see
this when attempting payment.
I would contact [email protected] and ask them to tell their agent
to get their systems in order or lode the contract.
We use 2checkout

If you don’t get a prompt resolution contact one of the moderators.

I just contacted my bank (Halifax/Lloyds, UK) and they have investigated the issue and say that there is no problem their end and the problem is with PayProGlobal systems which are incorrectly trying to authenticate the payments. This in my opinion is totally believable as I have no problems with using either of my cards elsewhere.

After informing emclient that my bank has stated that the problem is PayProGlobal, they now say:

“When you add a new card to your existing subscription via the PayPro Global interface, all of the verification checks that are otherwise done when placing a completely new license order via the Pricing page are not done, which is likely causing your bank to decline the payments.”

So they now admit that the PayProGlobal system is at fault. What they have not explained is:

(a) why PayProGlobal allows card updates when they know they will fail
(b) why PayProGlobal does not do the verification checks when a card is updated

It wastes so much time for everyone.
