synchronize often fails

synchronize often fails. I want to synchronize 2 accounts, one is a gmx account, one is a configserver account. I get mails, but sometimes only headers. Mails are sometimes not deleted from the server. Testing the accounts always works well. Furthermore the rules I defined (i.e. to move mails automatically to special folders) don’t always work correctly - but sometimes they do. I use the free version under windows 8.1.

Hi, what version of eM client are you currently using, you can find the exact number version in Help > About.
Are you having issues with both email accounts or just one of the accounts?

Thank you,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
thank you for the qucik answwer. It is 6.0.19861.0.

Axel

Sorry - forgot to answeer your seecond questions. Problems occur oon both accounts. I deleted one of them (…@gmx.de) and can’t define it again now (once the server doesn’t answer, once just “repair failed” etc.)

First of all please try to update your application to the latest release (http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.201…), let me know if it helped anything.

Thank you,
Paul.

Update done, but problems still exist. Every once in a while I get some mails, but this is a very rare thing. One strange issue is that test mails from one account to the other are sent and downloaded but mostly even without downloading other mails.

Can you please make a screenshot of your account settings from your IMAP tab (if you’re using IMAP) in Tools > Account > Your account?

Thank you,
Paul.

I’m using POP3. Here are two screenshots, one from every account.

Hi, did you setup the account through the automatic setup or did you set it up manually?
Can you also make a screenshot of your SMTP setting?

You mentioned some emails are sometimes received, is that correct?

Thank you,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
first I tried the automatic setup, it worked well in one case (@gmx.de), but not in the other (@friedens…). So I tried several settings manually. Here are the SMTP screenshots:

Hi, sorry these screenshots are really small and I can’t read the details, can you please upload larger images?
From the small look I believe the issue is based within the login credentials which appear to be in a wrong format on the first image (hopefully it’s the one not working).

Before you make any changes, please upload the larger images.

Thank you,
Paul.

I hope it’s better now:

Thank you
Axel

Thank you for the screenshots. The settings seem to be correct so we need a bit more information in order to resolve this problem. Please go to the menu Tools->Settings->Advanced->Logging and check “POP3” under the problematic account. Restart eM Client, try to simulate the issue and send us the logs using the same logging settings window - send it to my colleague Paul at [email protected]. Thank you.

Hi, I’ve received the logs as my colleague instructed, are you receiving any error messages from the application, that would tell us more information about the issue?
Are you using any firewall/proxy software or what antivirus software are you using?

Thank you,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
thanks for your answer. The funny thing is that in the last days it’s been running really stable. I’m using a different lan connection because I’m not at home. Let’s wait till next week and see if the error messages still occur (they didn’t say more than “connection to … failed”). By the way I’m using avira antivir software.

Axel

Ok keep me posted, but this actually suggests that the issue might actually be caused by your home network.

Thank you,
Paul.
