Aside from the fact that we don’t use the Google CalDAV API anymore we are on the whitelist for their new CalDAV, so there’s nothing to worry about.
I tried this (Open eM Client, go to Tools - Accounts - New account and fill in your Gmail username and password.) and now I have two gmail accounts showing. When I tried to delete one of them it said it would delete all the folders for this account tree. It is the same as my original and I would then lose over 1000 emails so how do I get around this as well as the sync issue with google. I tried adding a contact in google as well as in contacts on em but neither synced. This is the only reason I am trying this program and if I can’t get it to work on the free licence then I will not move to the pro version.
So i deleted what I thought was the non-default duplicate and now it considers the primary account to be offline. Under tools\accounts it is the default, and it is enabled.
File\work offline does not have a checkmark beside it.
I can’t preview the email and it says that the message will be downloaded the next time I go online. I have a cable modem and never disconnect.
I figured out the sync now 
Talking about Calendar reminders:
If I choose to not receive reminder, the default google reminder is applied but if I wanna receive an sms as reminder i have no option to do it in emClient Calendar.
Can you enable emClient give option to customize the type of reminders?

If they start support CalDAV, you can simply set new CalDAV account in eM Client and it should work - that is the only possible solution.
The caldav/cardav support is broken in 5.0.17944.0 version, sends an extranous period after domain in the url sent to server, causing some hosts to reject authentication for caldav/cardav requests.
problem does not exist in 5.0.17939.0 version, it would be nice if the could give us a download link for older versions.
How did you get eM client to sync with Google Contacts?? It’s the one thing that is not bi-laterally syncing for me. Email and Calendar are working no problem in the free version. I need to get contacts working too before I buy the Pro version. Thanks.
not using google contacts, using kerio mail server caldav/cardav. Works in all by the latest version.
New contacts saved in eM Client sync with my Google Docs account however they are dumped into Google “Other contacts” not My contacts which is where all my other contacts are and my iPhone syncs with, can anyone help how I can change eM Client to save to My contacts?

Simply create the new contacts in correct folder, which is “My contacts”.

I had tried to do that by selecting a different folder to the default however it is not possible only one folder is available in drop down menu and it is not editable.
Is there another way to do this and make “My contacts” the default?

Hi Jan, yes “save copy of sent messages in sent folder” is marked/checked but that relates to email not contacts and does not resolve the CONTACTS syncing problem with Google, maybe your answer was sent to this thread by mistake.
Google has different folders for contacts and the main one is called “My Contacts” however when a new contact is entered in eM Client it syncs to Googles “Other contacts” folder so it doesn’t sync to my mobile Phone, hope you can help, Thanks
When you create a new contact, there is a drop down list called “Folder”(It is the sixth entry field: Full Name, Job Tile, Company, File As, Category, Folder)
Simply click on the down arrow and select the account that contains your Google contacts.
In my setup, it shows as "Google Account/Contatcts/My Contacts
