suddenly can't delete email

I have an intermittent problem with deleting email. This  typically happens once every week or two, but now every hour or two or maybe  much less. To delete I have to repair or empty trash, then I can delete for 30min or maybe an hour two then I have to do another repair. This could even occur every 15-20 min. any suggestions? it’s totally random and tomorrow it  might start working fine for a week.

Running rev 6.0.22344.0 on Win7 pro/64


Hello, I’m not quite sure what kind of issues you’re referring to, are you seeing any errors thrown by the application? Can you please make a screenshot of such error or navigate to the Log tab, copy the content of the log and submit it to us here on the forum?

What mail service are you using with eM Client at the moment? Are you using any security software on your computer that may be blocking the connection between the client and your mail server?

I’m using ATT/Yahoo email server. No error messages at all. I click on an email I want to delete, press delete key, the email disappears for a milli-second, then snaps back. Same with the next, and the next, etc… if I select TRASH and do a repair or empty trash it cures the problem temporarily. Was used to having to do this maybe once per day or every other day but recently I have to do it every 10-20 min. However, has not reoccurred today yet, but only been on the computer for 10 min.

I’m using Bitdefender AV software. Approaching the end of a 2 yr license.

I’ll capture a log file and send shortly.

To illustrate how intermittent this is, it has not occurred since my initial post, but will likely return. it’s been 3 days so far.

I know, hard to fix something that’s not  broken.

To review, the problem is/was, on deleting an email, it goes away very briefly then pops back. Repeated deletes do nothing. It’s like TRASH keeps spitting it out. A TRASH repair fixes the problem temporarily, only to reoccur in 3-4 min or a week or maybe longer.

Hello, please try to disable your antivirus temporarily and check if the issue persists, I believe it may be causing this issue by disabling eM Clients ability to connect to the server and upload the items onto your server, if you’re seeing any errors, please make a screenshot of the error or copy the content of the log from the log tab and submit it to us here on the forum.

OK, will do. Just had one brief occurrence yesterday. I’m using Bitdefender AV software.

Try to temporarily disable your antivirus software and check if the issue persists… Network security applications maybe causing issues while the application tries to communicate with the server or block the connection between the server.
