A couple of days ago I created 2 new subfolders. I use Windows Live email and they are both still there, with all their contents, but they have vanished from eM. I went to create them again and found that both are clearly listed, but clicking on the folder of which they are subsidiaries doesn’t show them, which it is supposed to and which it did before. Any suggestions as to how I can get them back?
Just got them back by making it keep synching until they reappeared, but why did they vanish like that?
Hello Sue,
how are your Live accounts set up? IMAP or Exchange?
Are there any synchronization errors in Menu>Tools>Operations window? (Error or Log tab)
Regards,
Olivia
They’re IMAP. I sometimes get errors saying that eM was unable to connect to the server. Mind you, I never had these problems until I began using Windows 10, which wasn’t by choice. As soon as I have a long enough period in which to do it, I’m going to remove Windows 10, which came pre-installed on a new computer, and replace it with Windows 7 which I much prefer for all sorts of reasons.
Hello Sue,
are the folders available if you check your messages through webmail?
If so, resynchronizing the account or setting it up as Exchange might resolve the issue.
If not, copy the errors for me, please.

Olivia
Thanks Olivia, I have got them back after repeatedly asking eM to synch, as I added in a post below my original question. I still don’t understand why they disappeared though!
Hello Sue,
difficult to tell now, but perhaps it was a temporary connection issue.
Let us know if anything of this nature happens again so we can look into it, if needed.
Regards,
Olivia
OK, will do, thanks Olivia.
