Spell check "Subject"

Can spell check in the “Subject” of an email message be enabled?

No, it is not possible at the moment.

Is it possible now? This is a huge flaw. Is this that difficult to implement. I believe it would make this the only email program that doesn’t.

I will discuss it with our developers and will let you know if they decide to implement it.

This would be one step closer to me switching. I am a terrible speller and cannot use this without it.

Hello,

New Email - tools - check spelling (shortcut F7) or use automatic spell check does not work?
You can even setup spell check language there.

Hi Jan, it does not appear to check the subject line though. Should check everything, no?

Hello,

Well this should work also but it needs to repaired and it will take some time. Nevertheless it will be done as soon as possible.

Glad to hear.

Also on a similar note. Is there a way to have a spell check when you try to send a message if there are spelling errors?

well there is option for automatic spellcheck if you mean this - it will check your spelling while writing your message so before you send you will see wrong words underlined by red swung dash.

I was referring to a Thunderbird type action. Where if you try to send a message with misspelled words the spell checker would popup warning you to fix it with suggestions. Just something I am used to and seems very helpful.

My goal here is simply to eventually move to this from TB if possible. So I am just looking at the things I find the most useful and would miss, or have to retrain my brain to watch for.

Thanks

now I see, this should be implemented in next (6th version) eM Client, and it is scheduled to release in few weeks.

So this is almost sure that it will be implemented

OK great. Hopefully both can be done together.

Thanks

I hope that also

This is good news and hopefully automatic “F7” before sending will be available in the next version. One thing I have noticed with F7 is that it checks and flags a lot of things that it shouldn’t. For example, email addresses are always shown as spelling errors. And it currently checks the entire email when you reply to an email, meaning it flags spelling errors and every email address in the original email. It would be much better if the spell check feature worked more like other email clients that ignore email addresses, links, and the contents of the original email when you are replying. Just a suggestion that will hopefully be considered. Thanks.

Hello,
