SMTP user name and password issue

Hi em-client v6 has started to ask for my user name and password but wont accept it on SMTP. I have tried it on other clients and it works fine.

First question regarding your issue is are you on Verizon?  If so then you’re experiencing the same issue many of us had on Verizon due to their server setup change.  The folks at eM-Client have already resolved the problem and created an update that resolved the problem.  Keep in mind that this update was to resolve the POP3/SMTP signon issue with Verizon.   Here’s the link to that thread which, you should review to see if your issue is what the rest of us experienced.   Paul, at eM-Client, posted a link to an update that resolved the issue.  Hope that helps.  Here’s the link to that thread:.


No we are on EE fibre. and using imap/smtp but thanks any way


Hi Steve, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check for the exact version number in Help > About?
Are you seeing any errors from the application? How did you setup the account, did you use the automatic setup?

Are you using any firewall/proxy software on your computer?
