Smtp connection error

We are trying to synchronize eM with GSuite. It starts the synchronization but when it is downloading the emails then an smtp connection error is displayed, what can that reason be?

The smtp settings worked just fine in Thunderbird and Outlook, but we would really like to switch to eM. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Without knowing what the SMTP error is, one thing you can check is that you have the following settings:

IMAP port 993 Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
SMTP port 465 Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy) or 587 Use SSL/TLS if available
