SmarterMail Attach shared calendar not contacts

I am using SmarterMail 17 and the email account I am adding to emclinet has 4 shared calendars which I need to attach.

Do I need to purchase SmarterMail EWS to sync shared resources individually?

instead of attaching shared resources can I use the credentials from the shared account and just add the calendar but disable contacts from displaying?  The HIDE feature does not work and just puts the contacts in a MORE folder.

any direction is appreciated.

When setting up an account with EWS, you don’t have a choice to include calendars but not contacts; you get both. You might be able to change that on the server, but I am not sure.

SmarterMail does support both CalDAV (calendar) and CardDAV (contacts). Why don’t you try setting up your calendars with CalDAV.

In eM Client, go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and add a new account by clicking on the + icon. Then choose Calendar > CalDAV.

thanks for the info.  I did setup the calendar with CalDav but when doing that the contacts are automatically added from teh server and synced as well which I do not want.  seems like you get both no matter what you do and no way to just add one or the other - strange.

If you go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and click on the CalDAV account you added.

For a regular CalDAV is should look like this:

If it was setup using the Automatic Setup, and not the method I gave in my previous post above, it might include email and contacts and will look something like this:

Notice that this account has different services, and multiple tabs, whereas the CalDAV on it’s own did not. If it was setup like this, scroll down to services and untick CardDAV.

great clarification thank you!

I just tested an account with the auto setup and for some reason I do not get the tabs for CalDav or CardDav - screen shot:

I am using the Free version of EM clinet and my smartermail enterprise server is not running EWS.  I wanted to mention that in case any of those are required/used in your setup?

The Automatic Setup is very much dependent on what information the server provides on autodiscover, but for some providers there are predefined setups in eM Client that will also add the CalDAV and CardDAV etc.

In the above example your server is just offering IMAP/SMTP. If it was just Exchange, it would offer EWS. If it was both, I understand the Automatic Setup will choose IMAP, and if you wanted EWS you would have to set it up manually.

There is no difference between the Free and Pro Licenses in this instance, except that the Free License is limited to two email accounts.
