Sky/Yahoo contacts not importing to emCLient

I have three accounts - Sky, Gmail, and hotmail. My main one is Sky, serviced by Yahoo.

The contacts for Gmail and Hotmail are visible. The contacts for Sky are not. I can see them on the Yahoo page, but not in emClient. There isn’t even a Sky listing for contacts; it’s as if the account doesn’t exist as far as contacts are concerned.

Which gives me a problem. I know I can export the Yahoo contacts to a csv file, which I’ve done (SkyContacts.csv) - but when I import it to emCLient - where do I put it, when there’s no Sky account to add the “Contacts” folder under?

As your Sky / Yahoo contacts are not automatically importing as separate contacts in eM Client Contacts section (which sounds like some Sky / Yahoo issue), and you have exported them from your Sky / Yahoo account online to a .CSV file as you advised, then you could either:-

Import them into one of your other “Gmail or Hotmail account contacts” to integrate with those.

Or you couid choose to import them into “Local Folder Contacts” if you don’t want them integrated into your other account contacts.

After you select your .CSV file, make sure you choose the “Contacts folder” when importing.

Note: If you do import them into Local Folder Contacts “after importing”, go to Contacts section in eM Client and make sure Local Folders contacts are checked / ticked so those contacts then appear in the To , Cc, & Bcc line when composing.

If you don’t have Local folders enabled” up to V9, go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General” and enable Show local folders.

Or to show Local Folders in V10, go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Folders” and enable Local Folders.

Lastly see @Gary post example on importing a .CSV file and “matching up headings at the end of the import wizard” in the following thread.

.

The import procedure isn’t the problem…well…not really. there is an option to set the headings to the first line of the exported file, which saves a lot of time…or rather it would, if what was in the columns matched the description (ie company name appears in column that should be “mobile number”.

Not sure as yet if this is a “me” problem, a Yahoo (export) problem, or an emClient (import) problem. It’s just a problem. I’ll get roujnd to it eventually.
