I set the securitypolicy on ’ Use SSL/TLS on a special port (outdated)'.
The portnumber that appeared is 465.

Is this safe and alright?

For SMTP you can use either of the following “which are both secure”. Some SMTP servers only support one or the other. Most support both.

Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
