Hi! You keep sending me emails counting down the days of my trial period. I am technologically challenged so I worry that I will lose my email capabilities. When I sign up again for the free service I am told that my email address is already signed up. WTF?

Have you applied for a license before? If your address has already been registered for a license, you can get your Activation Key via http://www.emclient.com/lost-activation-key and it will be sent to your address. Afterwards, please go to Menu -> Help -> License, click on Activate and copy your Activation Key there.
