shut down error message

When i open Em Client i get a message saying it was not shut down correctly and it checks for inconsistancy??
Any ideas?

Hi,

if eM Client cannot recover, there are three things you can do to remedy this situation:

  1. Update to the latest version available at http://www.emclient.com/dist/latest/s… and then go to Start -> Run and type the following:
    “C:\Program Files\eM Client\DbRepair.exe” /checkall
or alternatively, if you use 64-bit system:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\DbRepair.exe” /checkall

  2. Download a tool from http://www.emclient.com/tools/DbRepai… and run it.

  3. Delete the database files located in C:\Users[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\eM Client (on Windows Vista/Windows 7) or C:\Documents and Settings[your user name]\Application Data\eM Client (on Windows XP). This will remove all settings though!

Best regards

I have tried 1 and 2 but dont really want to lose my settings. The database check is already working that is the problem. I will explain better, the message i am getting is at start up and it refers to not shutting down properly.
The message reads…

Em client was not closed correctly the last time. To ensure your data is safe several checks need to be performed.
checking for corrupted database…
im_data.dat

Checking for inconsistant data…

does this clarify better my initial email which was a bit vague maybe as it was written in a hurry when short of time sorry.

happens to me too . . . just lousy coding I guess

No no no you just dont get it, If we fail to shut it down before we shut down windows THEN it happens. Some thing in the coding is wrong . . . sad because other wise it is a pretty good mailer.

This was fixed internally and will be available with the next major version.
