Setup email Incoming works but smtp doesn't connect to the server

I recently re-installed eM Client. My incoming email (IMAP) works fine but smtp doesn’t connect to the server It have tried the port settings (587) that work on my phone but nothing works. tried also to set it up manually but no joy.

Hi Barry…

When we corresponded previously did you find the backup file?
If you did and EMC was working correctly before your System & EMC re-install
restore EMC using the backup file; it contains your accounts and settings plus
whatever emails were on your system though as you are using IMAP they will
have been restored already.
You don’t say who is your ISP and I can’t remember.
