server error on attempts to download email in trash folder

I use a rule that moves all incoming email directly to trash unless the sender is in a white list (Rules). emClient performs this well but then tries to download all the messages that have been marked ‘delete’ on the server due to being moved to the trash. This results in the error log dialogue box filling up with errors returned from the server. This doesn’t make sense to me. Surely emClient should not request the message from the server once it’s marked for deletion.

Having said that, I do check through the trash folder very quickly to make sure nothing wanted has slipped through and occasionally I do want to see the content. Only then should the server be called to download the message content.

or am I missing a point here?

I often have to wait for 5 minutes or so for the error dialogue box to clear it’s perpetual warnings and errors.

Thoughts please.
