I see that with v. 10 the “Select all” button was moved over to the left side of the inbox, whereas it used to be more centrally located. I regularly empty out my junk folder, and with the old position of “Select all” I could very quickly select spam and delete. Now, I have to hunt for the “Select all” button, and then scan for the delete button.
Any way to get the old position of the select all button back? Or, better yet, a simple “Empty junk” button?
It appears you are pointing to the “Select” button, rather than to “Select all”. For me, on v10 this button has moved to the left and is no longer labeled unless you hover over it.
Also, I now see that the “Empty Junk Folder” button is available, but only when the folder tree on the left is expanded or maximized. I always keep it minimized, so the option to empty the junk folder never shows up for me on right click (unless I expand it first).
So is there any resolution to this? Or are we just supposed to accept that the “Select al” button is gone for and we will not be getting it back?
As @Gary advised in V10 you access the Select All button in a (combined) “Select” button on the far right in eM Client, where (by default) you don’t automatically select all messages when clicking that, due to i would say for eg: “safety reasons” where someone otherwise might accidentally select all messages and press delete which in the case of a Gmail customer would be deadly if they did that in the “All Mail” folder.
So in V10 as you posted in your screenshot, its a 2 step process to select all messages.
Thank you for the reply. I should have said that the “Select all” button was moved (not gone) in my earlier post. I think this was a poor move for those of us who empty out junk multiple times per day, but at least now I know. FWIW I do think an “Empty Junk” button on the customizable horizontal menu would rectify this.
