Search is very inaccurate for IMAP if you don’t choose the advanced option to “download emails for offline use”. However, that option uses a lot of hard drive space.
I think eM Client will only search for text in downloaded e-mails…
If you really want to search for text in e-mails stored on the e-mail server, you might have to use the web interface offered by your e-mail supplier.
search in eM Client works differently than other email clients.
eM Client only downloads the headers so if you want to use the search to search in the body’s of emails you have to download that email.
Otherwise you can only search for the headers.
for example search for the sender’s email or the subject.
I was unable to search on sender or subject. Results would not show up until I checked the option to download mail for offline use … and then I could search on subject or sender or body just fine.
can you provide a screenshot of what you were trying to search for with the search results and the email you were unable to find?
