Sending and receiving mails with iCloud.com is no problem…
Why does look-up not work with iCloud.com?

Check that you have “All Folders” selected and that you select "Subject, Sender, Receipients, Body, Notes and Attachments in search dropdown as in the V10 example below.
That works for me in my iCloud acct
If that still doesnt find anything, try “unchecking Use Server Search if available” and try again.
