restore emails

Will Not Restore Backup. Had to reload Win 8.1 & start with a new EM Client. I have a backup file
which I extracted. When I go to File, Restore all it does is delete my accounts. Any help please?
NOTE: In Tools,Settings,Backup it says “Never Backed Up” although backup path is the same.

Hello, sorry to see this, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About?

How did you backup eM Client? Did you backup the database using the built-in backup feature? Using this utility eM Client will create an archive backup that should be kept in your backup folder or moved to your backup folder on a new windows/computer installation in  order to restore from this backup.

Note that the backup has to remain archived as a zip file otherwise you won’t be able to perform repair.
