Rename Rules

I noticed that while rules can be edited, their names cannot be changed. This would be a really useful feature, especially when duplicating rules and modifying them afterward. Currently, the original rule name remains, making it difficult to clearly distinguish between different rules.

Would it be possible to add an option to rename rules in a future update? I believe this would greatly improve rule management and organization.

Rule name can indeed be changed. It is only not on a first page, but on the last one when you open the rule.

But we plan to redesign rules editing from the scratch to make it more efficient and user friendly.

OK, now I’ve found it. This is really a bit unfriendly, because I have always completed the rule before without going to the end with “next”.

This is indeed needing! I hope it coming soon.
I’m slowly getting used to eM Client. Have eM Client and Thunderbird running with almost identical content and rules to recognise differences. eM Client is slightly faster than Thunderbird.
Created this split after the end of Postbox.

As the years go by, I get more and more email, both legit as well as a torrent of spam… in making rules to push emails to folders to help manage the flow, I find it is cumbersome in eM Client. Some suggestions would be.

  1. When adding emails to the rules, don’t lock out access to the rest of the email program. I want to copy past multiple email addresses, and with the lock out, I can only do one at a time forcing me to save and close the add email dialog box to then right click and copy another email and then reopen the add email dialog box…
  2. drag and drop email addresses into rules buckets would be much faster. In general for me, my rules are fairly simple. I just want certain emails from particular addresses to go automatically into certain folders.
  3. It would be even more fantastic if when I received an email from a new individual, and then I drag and drop that email to a folder, the program would prompt me if I want to create a new rule or add that to an existing rule. This feature alone would be a game changer in how fast I could manage my flood of emails.

Thanks and hope to see creatively simple, elegant and efficient email/rule management solutions in the future. Focus on how to reduce the number of clicks to create simple rules and maximize efficiency, especially when doing a first go of setting up all the rules.

Thank you for your suggestions
