removing emails from the server

Hello Support,

I have synced my eM Client program running on Windows 7 with my Samsung Note 4 phone and all the emails just keep on being stored on the phone without being deleted. How do I after reading the push emails that I receive on the phone, have them deleted? I have used other email client programs with other android phones, and the emails have been deleted on the phone some time after reading them. I prefer this option.

I have a POP3 email account setup in eM Client which appears to be behaving correctly and storing all my emails. Just how do I stop my smart phone from storing all the emails too! Is their a setting within eM Client that I have yet to set? Any help would be appreciated…

Hello John , I don’t really understand, please note your phone is not synchronising with eM Client but your mail server, just as eM Client does, if you’re using a POP3 protocol on both of your devices , your email client will only download new unread messages from the server. If you want to keep your items synchronised with the server, you’d have to setup the account as IMAP.

POP3 protocol only downloads new messages and you have to select the messages to remove them manually, in most cases however the item is being kept on the server unless you setup the option, to remove from server after X days.

Regards,

Hi Paul, I fixed the issue myself. Under Accounts I selected my email account and under POP3, I unchecked all the boxes under Server settings. Now my push emails that I receive on the smart phone are periodically deleted. This is the outcome I wanted…

Thanks for your initial input though.

Regards John
