Any one else having the issue when you’ve tick the “Show Reminders on top of other windows” option in setting, the Reminders window will block the popup windows when you select custom snooze time windows resulting in user unable to operate on the snooze windows? I’m currently on version 10.4.5606.
Title: Custom Snooze dialog opens behind Reminder window (eM Client 10.4.5642, Windows 11)
Version. eM Client 10.4.5642 (2a058e0)
Windows 11, Single monitor, Display scaling: 100%
Steps to reproduce:
Create an appointment with a reminder due in one minute.
Wait until the Reminder window appears.
Click Snooze → Custom.
Expected result:
The Custom Snooze dialog should appear in front of the Reminder window so that a custom snooze interval can be entered.
Actual result:
The Custom Snooze dialog opens behind the Reminder window. The Reminder window becomes unresponsive because the hidden dialog is modal. The dialog does not appear in Alt+Tab.
Pressing Esc closes the hidden dialog and returns control to the Reminder window.
The problem is 100% reproducible on my system.
I am evaluating eM Client as a replacement for Outlook. This issue occurs every time and prevents use of the “Custom” snooze function.
Create an appointment with a reminder due in one minute.
Wait until the Reminder window appears.
Click Snooze → Custom.
Expected result:
The Custom Snooze dialog should appear in front of the Reminder window so that a custom > snooze interval can be entered.
The Custom Snooze popup window “does appear in front of the calendar event reminder window” for me personally using the latest V10.4.5647 & Win 11 (25H2) as per screenshot below
So try updating to the latest version via the release history page and see if that fixes it.
Before updating make a manual backup via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh. Also close eM Client before updating,
Or failing that if still the same issue with the latest version, then try uninstalling eM Client and “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard. Then reinstall the latest version again. and see if a reinstall fixes it.
I’ve tested with the latest version and still having the same effect.
With the steps to reproduce up there could you test again adding a first step of enabling “Show Reminders on top of other windows” in Settings–>General–>Reminders.
Also added a screen recording to show the difference between when the option is check and when its not.
Yes if you enable that option to “Show Reminders on top of other windows” when you click “Custom” eM Client completely freezes to the point where opening the task manager to try and close eM Client also is behind the reminder window. So yes i can replicate that and is a bug.
Suggest till thats fixed, “don’t enable Show Reminders on top of other windows” as it works correctly anyway without that option enabled. I personally just enable the other two options.
Tested the latest version V10.4.5663 and still the same issue with Win 11 (25H2) if you enable "Show Reminders on top of other windows” as per the below screenshot.
The reminder window “still does appear in front of other windows ok”, but as soon as you click Snooze / Custom the reminder window disappears behind and eM Client & Windows freezes. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling eM Client new version hasn’t helped.
Note:- If you choose any other Snooze Time above Custom it works correctly. Its only if you click Custom where eM Client & Windows then freezes.
