Just recently I get the red triangle appear next to my email address, not all the time, my computer is working fine, and
I have tried all the cures suggested, I am not comfortable with one suggestion of deleting EM Client and reinstalling ?
Here is the message.
"An attempt to connect to Outllook mail failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings.
Please check the settings or click on the warning symbol to try connecting again "
What have you tried already?
Also what version of eM Client do you have ?
Lastly what is your Outlook mail server settings ?
I have been getting this issue ever since this:
I have 4 Microsoft email accounts on three different computers. If I just have one computer using eMClient, it works OK and the incidence of red triangles is acceptably low. Having two or more computers running eMClient on the same accounts increases the incidence of red triangles to an unacceptable level.
It is very disappointing as eMClient is a great app. I have tried using Outlook - it works without error, but it is a hopeless app in comparison.
I have tried all the different suggested fixes, including one from cyberzork about changing the iMap server address.
My assessment is there is that there is some sort of “limit” that Microsoft has, or a timing problem if their servers get hit with lots of email commands for one account. Maybe eMClient is bombarding Microsoft servers at an unacceptable rate.
There is nothing you can do - just hope Microsoft and/or eMClient will fix it over time.
I wonder if it is possible for eMClient to experiment with an option to introduce a small delay so that it hits Microsoft iMap servers at a slower rate. I would be happy to test that.
Hi Cyberzork, I think I have found the problem. My new email address was changed in Microsoft but not in my Outlook office account, easy to change and seems to have fixed the red triangle in EM Client.
Spoke too soon, problem still occurs.
On the advise of Microsoft the problem has been solved after I updated to the new Outllook, authentification via the old Outlook was the problem as that authentifcation method is being discontinued.
Red Triangle continued until I updated EM Client. The update was hard to find and not in the usual place, meant paying for a new license !
And now the red triangle is back along with a link problem ! I am about to delete EM Client for ever and stick to Outlook. Very dissapointed as I too had to pay for a update, that didn,t last long !!!
