"Recipients entered in To field have an incorrect format"

I created a contact for the lab I TA for. This contact has ~60 emails, all of the same format: [email protected]. That means I pasted in a list that looked like “[email protected],[email protected],…”. When I choose this contact to send email to, eM Client gives the error in the title. This has worked before, although I have gotten this message before as well. I can’t remember what I did to fix the problem. I can’t see anything wrong with the email formats. Why does this happen?

Hi,

Did you create the contact as a distribution list?

Dave

Ah, no, I’d forgotten about that. Is there a way to add multiple emails at once to a distribution list? It seemed that I could only add one email at a time.

You should be able to click “add member from address book” and then pasting any number of emails (for example from a .csv file) into the “users” line. This can add thousands of addresses at the same time. Alternatively, you can add users manually by checking the checkboxes from your contacts in the window.

Ah, ok. It wasn’t clear that you could do that. Thanks.
