Reassurance needed re deactivating and reactivating license

I need reassurance please. Having accidentally renewed my license with the wrong ‘Name’, can I just deactivate it and then reactivate using the correct name without causing any problems with my inbox etc?

Hello Jane, not completely sure what you’re referring to as renewed your license? eM Client’s licenses do not expire so you shouldn’t have to renew the license, if you’ve purchased an upgrade or lifetime upgrades to your current PRO license, and used a different email address, please submit your Order ID and information about your current license to my email, [email protected]

I have the free version, which is all I need.  It was recently set up, and all I know is that I got this message saying my trial period was over and I needed to sign up for either a paid or free license.
 
I clicked on the free one and was asked for name and email address.  I put in the correct email address but put my name instead of the name it was registered with.  This seemed to be accepted until 10 days later a message came up that I didn’t understand but seemed to say that something was wrong with my license.  I’ve only had this message once, yesterday and foolishly didn’t note the actual words.  That’s why I’m asking whether I have to deactivate the license with the wrong name but right address and then somehow ‘apply’ again with the original name.  I don’t want to be in any danger of losing anything from my email set-up in the process. Hi again Jane, not completely sure what error you’re referring to, if the issue reoccurs, please make a screenshot of the error and submit it to us here on the forum.

If you’re a free user, you don’t need to change the registration, you need to have the email address setup correctly in order to receive the activation key, if you haven’t received the activation key yet, just make another registration using the correct email address.
