READ Receipt aaghhhh

no matter the settings, if I send an email requesting a read receipt I get two back, this is using global or account settings to send a read receipt automatically always.
I’m sending from em client to thunderbird client.

only way round issue is use old version 3.0.1 goto old version thunderbird in google search.
