Problem with Ver 4.0.136: Calendar Sync reports error
Uploading events to calendar ‘[email protected]/username/’ failed with an error: Backend Error

I have the same problem. Before the last update it would sync with my google calendar…now it wont…I get the “backend error” as well.
Any idea’s anyone please ?
I opened another post but I have the same problem with version 13961.
I had the problem too, but only when my Smartphone was not connected with wlan. Connected with wlan, the sync works fine. Ok, but sync should work also with connected with 3G.
To me problem seems to be gone after update to 13961… - contrary to Pascal…

This morning the problem same problem and the smartphone was connected with wlan. Seem’s to be a bug.
For me the problem appeared in 13961. Always worked well before that.
For everyone with the “Backend error” message: Please go to Tools -> Settings -> Logs and enable logs for “GData” and “Network communication”. Then restart the application and wait for the error to happen. Once it happens, send us the logs using the “Send logs” button in the Tools -> Settings -> Logs dialog.
EM Client employee will try to diagnose the problem, but it may be a problem on Google’s side with their new APIs.
I get a message, “Specified cast is not valid.” I have no idea what that means. Can someone help? I really need to get my Google calendar synced. Thanks.

Ever get a solution to this? I just started with eM Client and this is a huge stumbling block because my calendar has nothing.
Nope, no solution yet. I agree – a big, big problem. Calendar is so vital to what I do.
My work around is to uncheck all the calendar boxes under that already established email account.
Then, follow the second half of instructions on this page to create a new account for only my calendar: http://www.emclient.com/em-client-wit… that are entitled: Configuring non default Gmail calendars. I gave the account the name: Google Calendar and went with that. Its NOT ideal by a long shot but it preserves my contacts that I use with that account. and I get a calendar that syncs both ways.
It’ll have to do for now. Thunderbird was causing my computer to hang every 3 or 4 minutes. Good luck!
OK. I’ve got it fixed. I’m not sure exactly what did the trick… but first, I realized my Windows platform didn’t have any service packs installed so I got 1 then 2 installed. Prior to that, I also downloaded the absolute latest version of emClient. It was from the following link courtesy of an employee on this forum: http://www.emclient.com/dist/v4.0.149… It didn’t resolve until I’d done both but I am inclined to think it was because of the service packs. I also made sure to go to calendar.google.com through my browser first as well. Maybe this will help you?
