Passsword access to eMclient

Hi , I am -an old user of emollient almost since the beginning of its arrival on the market. I became addicted to the application and was happy with it. Lately I came to a feature I did not know “installing a password to start the program”, It worked for first time I tried the password. The next day there was no way to log into the program and read my mails. I forgot my password or a part of it. There was no way to access the program and read my mail. I am blocked with problem for almost a month now and had to set an account on outlook to read my mails… I tried to reinstall the program but no way.
Is there a way to recover my emclient as before or is there a way to my program? I hope t You have an Anwer and waiting eagerly to have it. Thank you

If you have forgotten your Original Startup password and cannot reset the password or disable the startup password protection, then you will have to “Delete the eM Client Settings.dat file” as per @Gary post below from the following thread.

https://forum.emclient.com/t/how-to-reset-the-startup-password-on-em-client-7/60427/2

“There is a file you can delete, but you will lose most of your settings. You won’t lose any data, nor items like Rules, signatures and templates”.

"Close eM Client, and then delete C:\Users_[username]_\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\settings.dat. You will have to show hidden items in Explorer to do that.

If you have a Mac, then the eM Client Settings.dat file is in the following hidden folder - “Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”

Hey@AEG0005

When you have followed the instructions from @cyberzork you
can attempt to recover what is lost - IF - you have a Backup
that was made BEFORE the password you entered that you
can’t remember.
Before you attempt this make a Backup after the recovery
procedure (Menu/Backup)
