Outlook.com and IMAP - national characters in Subject

When receiving mail in my Outlook.com account via IMAP in emClient, I get ?? instead of national characters (Swedish ÅÄÖ) in the Subject field.

The same Subject field is shown correctly in Android and Thunderbird.

One possible explanation could be the error in MS IMAP implementation explained in this article.

Hello,

this is most likely issue on server’s side, but can you please send that email as attachment in .eml (right click on that email - save as…) to [email protected] together with this topic’s url in subject?

Hi Jan,

Yes, I also believe that this is an issue on the server side, especially since the very same message is correctly displayed when retrieved via POP3. Still, Android email clients and TB can can also display the Subject correctly.
