"Operation has timed out" initial sync to Exchange (outlook.com) account


I’m using eMClient version 7.0.30068.0 to access an outlook.com account (@live.co.uk email address).  It’s set up as an Exchange account in eMClient i.e. connection is via Exchange Web Services.

When I initially open eMClient, it says ‘Synchronizing folder list’ in the bottom left-hand corner.  After a couple of minutes, the ‘Operations’ dialog pops up with the following entries in the Log (after trying to upload items to a folder):

11:46:31 xyz@live.co.uk [Exchange Web Services]  MailClient.Accounts.ConnectionException: The operation has timed out —> System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
11:46:31    at MailClient.Protocols.Exchange.ExchangeGenericCommand.Execute(WorkerStatus status)
11:46:31    at MailClient.Commands.Command.Process(WorkerStatus status)

I only receive new emails in my Inbox after manually clicking the ‘Refresh’ button.

Does anyone know what the problem might be with the initial sync on opening eMClient?
